Project
To assist Education Development Corporation (EDC), a global nonprofit organization, in the relocation of its Washington, DC operations to new facilities on the seventh floor of 1025 Thomas Jefferson Street, NW, in the Georgetown submarket of Washington, DC.
Challenges
EDC was working within a very tight timeframe, requiring full build out in 10 weeks. The project budget of $1.4 million needed to encompass a robust audio-visual scope. Project management was required for permit expediting, general construction oversight and review of change orders. Additionally, a 1,200 square foot expansion space requirement was added mid-build out.
Solutions
The J Street Companies project management team worked with brokers, MDS/Miller Dyer Spears architects and HBW General Contracting as well as with an AV specialist to integrate power and data requirements for the sophisticated AV equipment throughout the office.
EDC came to J Street for experience and advice and with the confidence that our team would be their best advocate throughout the build out process. The company was moved in on time and on budget, excited to have been able to incorporate new technology within their new space.
